cotton bag protect our planet

Let’s start with something fun here on Kapitelbegelrum. And don’t worry – even though I first ask you to spend money you will save from it in the upcoming weeks – and for coming to this website you deserve to make yourself a little present!

Get one or two Bags produced from organic cotton take on your weekly shopping trips.

Every year about 600 billion plastic bags are being produced and thrown away. 80% of plastic waste (about 6 million tons per year) find their way into the ocean. Additionally to 675 tons of regular waste that are dumped directly into the sea. The plastic makes its way into the stomaches of maritime animals and eventually on our plates.
Fun fact: Bangladesh was the first country to prohibit the use of plastic bags (in 2002).

What’s in for you
Bring enough bags for your shopping trip and save money by not having to pay for a plastic bag. That can save you between 10 cents and 1 Euro per plastic bag that you don’t need anymore!

Level 1.2 Get Vegetable and Fruit bags (or make them yourself #upcycling)

2 of 5 trees

Often enough fruits and veggies are packed in
plastic already. And if not so, you put
them in plastic bags so they can be weight. But how about instead you put them in fabric bags.

You might think the problem could be solved by just using paper bags that a lot of
supermarkets offer instead for you to put your food in. But in fact, paper bags aren’t better. For their production a lot of water and energy is needed, without having talked about the chemicals yet.

What’s in for you
Less waste that you have to bring all the way to the dumpsters!
Save money if you sew the bags yourself. Use old fabric, in that way you’re upcycling. Only thing to make sure is, that the material you use is very light.

I am extremely impressed with your writing skills as well
as with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did
you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to see
a nice blog like this one today.
